Infiltrate Zine 4.5…. is here and you have been infected… reblog the virus….
We start this issue with the Infiltrate manifesto - “In 1999, Pl3x (La Mano Fria & Rick Garrido), a local design, print and promotional crew which would go on to form Beta Bodega record label, together with various organizations among the urban and experimental electronic community formed the first annual Infiltrate 1.0 in Miami. Infiltrate was held on March 13, the opening day of the infamous Winter Music Conference, as an act of defiance. We gained access to and attached ourselves to the largest electronic music beach festival ever held in South Beach. Showcasing strictly huge commercial and mainstream acts,La Mano Fria & crew secured a large vending spot and instead of selling anything, a large sound system was brought in and some of the most respected underground talents from Miami and around the world were invited to stop by. This covert and subversive act was in reaction to the fact that although the conference is held here in our hometown, Miami’s wealth of talented musicians and innovative labels are ignored. Our belief was that, rather to ignore it or just wave our angry fists, we’d become a parasite within the underbelly of the beast and feed off it for the advancement of our cause. Pl3x and Miami’s underground took action and now the aural virus known as Infiltrate has since spread. The goal is to spread until the host feels the symptoms of our musical rebellion here in Miami.”
Now in 2013, we present Infiltrate 14.0, an important event and moment in the true Miami underground spirit, which for many years has lost its vigor and direction. With tours in Japan & France in the mid 2000’s, the movement has clearly spread worldwide. Brought to you by Beta Bodega, Schematic, Triangle Earth, Etihad (Amalgama), Reset, Studio GPK, Miami Beer Tour, Infiltrate Zine, MustDelicious, etc…. aka the cats that didn’t fall off 14 years later. They felt violated.
